Content management is backbone of new Bedford schools site CLEVELAND - The Bedford City School District, one of greater Cleveland's largest - serving more than 33,000 residents with an enrollment of almost 4,000 students - recently unveiled its newly created Web site.
Serving such a large population posed several challenges for the district to provide valuable and timely information for students, faculty, staff and parents in seven separate schools within the district. Each school needed the ability to manage it own content, including updating lunch menus and event calendars, without affecting any other part of the site. Furthermore, the Administration Center required access to manage all district-specific information.
Peerlis created an aesthetically appealing and user-friendly graphic design and implemented a customized version of its dynamic content management system called PeerContent. Each of the schools in the district now have the ability to manage content for their respective area of the site. The easy-to-use system allows each school's administrators to utilize standard copy-and-paste techniques to populate the database on the fly via a Web browser. The new Bedford City School District site can be viewed at www.bedford.k12.oh.us.
